Rick Huntley
Rick Huntley, a newdynamics partner, provides leadership development coaching, consultation and facilitation in the areas of team and organization effectiveness, diversity leadership, communication and facilitating change. For over 15 years, he has conducted organization/team need assessments, assisted with strategy development and provided leadership learning and skill development for many organizations, including American Medical Association, Hewlett-Packard, Perot Systems, Harvard University as well as government and non-profits. His coaching enables leaders to lead effectively while navigating through the process of change, impacting others from individuals to the whole system. His work takes him throughout North and South America including the West Indies. Current clients include Busboys and Poets Restaurant, Clarian Health, AFSCME, The World Bank, National Education Association, Pfizer Corporation and Merrill Lynch.
Rick supports leaders, teams and organizations in reaching higher levels of performance, productivity and inclusion. Focusing on effective use of self as a primary resource for engaging others in change, his work with clients heightens their awareness, enabling them to lead with greater effectiveness. Rick also designs and facilitates programs for understanding and constructively using conflict, creating strategic dialogue and direction, and strategy development.
He is a professional member of NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science, where he is managing faculty for NTL's Diversity Leadership Certificate Program. He is also adjunct faculty at American University, School of Public Affairs with its Masters of Organization Development program. He is a frequent speaker at conferences across the U.S. Most recently, he was a keynote speaker at the national conference for the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education in Dallas.
Prior to developing an organizational consulting practice, Rick held leadership positions in an international behavioral healthcare firm, providing management coaching and supervision as well as training and development. In 1993, he created Outlook Psychotherapy and Consulting, a mental health practice, providing psychotherapy, corporate stress management training and providing Critical Incident Stress Management education for organizations impacted by trauma. In the aftermath of September 11 2001 attacks, he consulted with corporate leaders in New York City and Washington, DC assisting with an understanding of how to manage the impact of trauma on their organizations.
Rick completed graduate study at Howard University in Washington, DC and earned a post-graduate certificate in Organization and Systems Development from the Gestalt Center for Organization and Systems Development in Cleveland. He is co-author of “Journeys of Race and Culture: Paths to Valuing Cultural Diversity” scheduled for release in 2008.
