Kiyoko Kasai Fujiu
Kiyoko Kasai Fujiu, a newdynamics partner, is an American of Japanese ancestry who has devoted over 40 years of her life to the issues of race and culture in organizations and society. For the past 20 years, she has been both a trainer and advocate focusing on gender issues and the challenge of working in flat structures within hierarchical systems. Over 14 years of that time were spent as executive in a major Protestant denomination in the United States.
In newdynamics her collaboration on the designs and seminars for corporate women and men in Japan was enhanced by her travels there and knowledge and experience of the impact of the intersections of gender, race, and culture.
Ms. Fujiu is a founding member of the regional Asian-American Caucus in the Midwest and Chicago. In addition, she is currently serving as a director on the Board of the Japanese American Service Committee, a social service agency in the Chicago area.
On occasions she has talked with groups and elementary school children about her experiences as one among over 120,000 Japanese Americans removed to the U.S. concentration camps during World War II.
Ms Fujiu has been associated with newdynamics since 1991 and is a member of the newdynamics Power Equity Training Group. She resides in Evanston, Illinois.
